how I solve problems

From a real problem to a reliable solution.

I work across software, data and applied AI. The goal is not to add technology for its own sake, but to build something understandable, useful and maintainable.

01

Understand the problem

Clarify the user, constraints, expected outcome and what success should mean before choosing a stack.

02

Design the system

Shape the data model, application boundaries, interfaces and failure cases so the solution has a clear structure.

03

Build the right solution

Connect interfaces, APIs, databases, data workflows and AI capabilities only where they serve a real need.

04

Validate and improve

Check expected behavior, edge cases, security and usability; document trade-offs and iterate from evidence.

Software engineering

Full-stack applications, API design, data modelling, authentication and maintainable product architecture.

Data & decision intelligence

Data preparation, analysis, pipelines, dashboards and turning information into decisions people can act on.

Applied AI & delivery

Useful AI integrations, workflow automation, deployment discipline and attention to reliability beyond the demo.

What matters in a case study

The context, my exact contribution, the technical decisions, the trade-offs and the evidence of the result — not just a list of frameworks.

how I work

Clear communication. Real ownership. No surprises.

A project is not just code delivered at the end. It is a shared commitment: understand the need, make progress visible, raise risks early and leave the solution in a state the team can actually maintain.

01 / WORKING AGREEMENT

Align before building

I start by clarifying the business goal, the people using the solution, the scope, constraints and how we will recognise success. If something is ambiguous, I ask instead of silently guessing.

02 / WORKING AGREEMENT

Make progress visible

I break work into understandable milestones, share what is done and what comes next, and keep decisions written down. A client should not have to chase me just to understand the state of a project.

03 / WORKING AGREEMENT

Raise risks early

When a dependency, technical issue or new request affects the plan, I explain the impact, offer options and recommend a path. I do not hide a blocker or wait until the deadline to mention it.

04 / WORKING AGREEMENT

Own the delivery

I follow through on agreed actions, verify the result and communicate what is ready, what remains and what needs a decision. If I make a mistake, I surface it, correct it and capture what should improve.

How I prioritise

Impact first. Reliability always.

  1. 01

    User and business value

Solve the right problem before adding more features.

  2. 02

    Security and data integrity

Protect access, information and the correctness of critical operations.

  3. 03

    Reliability and testability

Handle failure cases, validate important paths and make behavior predictable.

  4. 04

    Delivery and maintainability

Choose realistic milestones and leave code, configuration and decisions understandable.

  5. 05

    Polish and optimisation

Refine speed, accessibility and interface details once the core is sound.

From kickoff to handover

A delivery process you can follow.

1

Discover

Goals, users, existing systems, constraints and acceptance criteria.

2

Plan

Scope, milestones, risks, dependencies and explicit trade-offs.

3

Build in increments

Small reviewable changes, early feedback and version-controlled work.

4

Verify

Tests appropriate to the risk, security checks and deployment validation.

5

Release & hand over

Deployment notes, known limitations, configuration guidance and next steps.

Engineering means thinking beyond “it works on my machine”.

For software and DevOps work, I consider version control, reproducible environments, safe configuration and secrets, automated checks, deployment, logs and recovery appropriate to the project. The level of process should fit the real risk — not create ceremony for its own sake.

I do not promise that every project will be simple or that every deadline can survive a scope change. I commit to being transparent about the trade-offs, protecting the agreed priorities and staying accountable for the work we decide to do.
